The SSP aim is to assist in increasing the quality and quantity of physical education, physical and mental activity and sporting opportunities in and out of the curriculum for all young people in schools within the partnership. We through the vehicle of sport and physical activity are promoting a change to a more healthy lifestyle through education learning and fun.
THE FIVE HOUR OFFER
The overall vision is to work towards achieving the 5 hour offer. This includes at least 2 hours of quality PE on the curriculum, 1 hour for all schools outside the curriculum beyond the school gates, headed by the SSP then at least 2 hours of extra curricular & community styled activities per week.
Life is competitive
Activity can help on many different levels
We survey the schools & FE Colleges with a yearly PESSYP audit. PESSCL has been replaced to PESSYP (PE Sports Strategy & Young People)
The challenge has been set to break down barriers, encourage young people of all abilities to try activity, assist the elite, monitor and evaluate to make a quality system for a healthier nation. To increase participation of high quality PE & Sport & sporting pathways we have various programmes to support young people:
Competition Managers - Offering strategy to move competition forward
SSP Coaches - Offering more activities within school. Engaging young people to various activities at different key stages
Disability Clubs - Offering & enhancing more activities for all
FESCo's - Further Education co-ordinator for 16-19 year olds based at a local FE college.
All this is underpinned in us offering a healthy, safe, enjoyable, positive and economic sense of well being for every child matters.

N eed to improve
Data is collected from the schools, this is the way we monitor and concentrate the challenge. The SSP offer a continuing strategy by implementing partnership delivery through evaluation documents which includes information collected from all the schools in the partnership, trying to highlight and move forward many of the needs of schools and pass on evidence to government to secure funding to fundamentally improve young peoples sporting welfare and offer a healthier lifestyle giving them, where possible greater discovered choice.
In line with this we offer many festivals, events and training sessions for teachers, leaders and the community to all be empowered by sport & activity. Please look through our website to see how we try & make a positive difference…
